Feast in the East

East Village held it’s first Feast in the East event last weekend on Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27.

Despite the biting cold, quite a few people came to visit the variety of YYC Food Trucks parked outside the Simmons warehouse.

Food choices were abundant at Feast in the East as over ten trucks were parked on the lot. Ranging from spicy Indian food from the Naaco Truck, to pizza from Without Papers’ Truck, to Carrot Cake Perogies from Perogy Boyz, the selection was plentiful.

Having visited the Holy Crepe Food Truck once before, I thought it would be a good truck to show off to Sam. Remembering that the food was great along with the friendly service, we chose our crepes.

I ordered the B.L.esT. (It took me while to get it, too), and Sam ordered the Original Sin. All together the two crepes and a coffee cost $20. A great price for fast, fresh, hot food. The B.L.esT. was really tasty. Much like a typical B.L.T. but with avocado and cheese.

After we finished our savoury crepes, we went back outside to Holy Crepe and ordered two Sweet Baby Jesus crepes that were made with almond and oatmeal crisp, whipped cream, and your choice of hot fruit toppings.

If, around lunch time, you happen to see the Holy Crepe Food Truck, make sure you stop by. You will receive first-rate customer service and heavenly tasting crepes.
