Everyone loves cupcakes… especially Crave cupcakes. If you haven’t been to any of the Crave locations, you need to…today.
The original Kensington location was opened in 2004 by sisters Carolyne and Jodi from High River. Using family recipes, the sisters presented a store front selling only cupcakes. With flavours ranging from “Nutty Over Chocolate” to ”A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts”, the store began to gain some major popularity.
Kensington’s store front is a bright, crisp room with the cupcakes displayed on cake stands behind a glass case. The shelves are accented with vintage inspired dishes and greeting cards. There is a cooler full of retro glass pop cans to go along with your sweet cupcakes.
Besides the original location in NW Calgary, there are locations in Saskatoon, Edmonton along with the Calgary locations in Willow Park Village, Aspen Landing, and Crowfoot Crossing. Crave did have a location on 17th Ave but it has recently shut down as they did not have a bakery in that store front.
Although the cupcakes are Crave’s signature piece they sell other treats like Ice Cream Sandwiches in the summer, Pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving, Gluten Free cupcakes and cakes, Monthly Feature Cupcakes and much more.
If you are looking for a place to get a sweet treat, stop by Crave. You will forever be a return customer. For all you SAIT students, Kensington’s Crave is a short walk down the 10th St hill.
